Services

Integrated Sites Division

The Integrated Sites Division provides a variety of services to children and their families. It is the belief of Behavior Analysts, Inc., that the needs of the children we serve can be best met through a partnership with their parents. To form this partnership our consultant guides parents through the elements of our teaching process with an emphasis on natural language training within the context of everyday activities. As parents become proficient with the implementation of the teaching process and familiar with the essential components of the basic learner skills, the service will gradually begin to concentrate its focus towards establishing the parents and family to proceed more independent of the consultant.

We provide services in the following areas:

Learner Profile Service

A Learner Profile appointment is a service that can be tailored to accommodate the individual needs of the family, and more importantly, the child. Behavior Analysts, Inc., has developed this flexible service with various components designed to capture and identify specific learner profiles in the children we serve. Learner Profile appointments are available at our clinic in Walnut Creek, California (San Francisco Bay Area).

The primary focus of this service is to let the expertise of our professional team (including Dr. Partington and consultants from our Integrated Sites Division) provide a thorough analysis of the child's language and learning skills, to identify teaching priorities, and to provide initial direction regarding our teaching procedures to the family for implementation. From the early learner to the more advanced learner this service is designed to be flexible. Learner profiles will vary in scope, and the service duration and focus is scheduled to accommodate this variety.

  • The early learner... a child who is at an introductory level in the intervention process
  • The intermediate learner... a child who demonstrates various language and learning skills yet continues to require the development of additional basic learner skills
  • The advanced learner... a child whose needs encompass advanced language skills and the qualities to bridge skill acquisition into novel experiences

ABLLS™-R… Introductory Language and Skills Analysis

The Introductory Language and Skills Analysis (Intro Analysis) is a service that fully incorporates the use of the ABLLS™-R (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills) as this instrument guides the child's assessment and then the development of program objectives and recommendations. This service is often considered when parents (and/or professionals) report difficulty in identifying specific skill areas that appear to be interfering with general skill acquisition and a systematic analysis is critical; or, when a thorough review of a child's overall skills and program needs is necessary.

Consultation Services… Local & Distance

Our consultants provide a variety of services to families and program teams to facilitate individual intervention programs. Our consultants provide the framework and training to implement our strategies and techniques along with the necessary program and child analysis to move the program forward appropriately. This includes ongoing training and support to the parents and others working with the child, continuous analysis and program development, and monitoring of the implemented strategies. An effective program will have continual change and growth; therefore, our ongoing consultative services remain flexible to accommodate the necessary elements of individual intervention programs.

On-Site Training at the STARS School

This service provides in-depth, individualized, “hands-on” training to professionals and paraprofessionals at the STARS School. Trainees can receive supervised, data-based training in the implementation of verbal behavior methods, differential reinforcement methods, natural environment instruction, the SCOOP direct observation system which is used to train and monitor staff performance at STARS, use of the ABLLS-R and subsequent IEP goal development, development of model classrooms for students with autism and developmental disabilities, as well as other topics of interest to trainees to enhance their professional skills. Training is provided by Dr. Pamela Osnes, Ph.D., BCBA (Director of Educational Services and the STARS School) and Joel Vidovic, M.S., BCBA (Coordinator of the STARS School and Behavior Specialist), and is truly individualized to address trainees’ goals. Because training is provided dynamically in the “real-time” STARS classroom while coaching and data collection are provided by Dr. Osnes and Mr. Vidovic, a maximum of two trainees per training is suggested. Training can occur from one to ten days. Cost is adjusted depending on number of trainees and duration of the service. For a truly personalized and unique training experience, consider on-site training at the STARS School!

STARS-Model Classrooms and
STARS Partners in Education

These service models provide public and/or private organizations an opportunity to embark on a unique combination of education and training, strong analysis and program development support, along with the guidance to duplicate the critical components of the program systems set up within our STARS School. These service models extend the foundation of our guiding principles and belief statements into quality programs that serve a far greater number of children than either entity can serve alone.

This type of collaboration is facilitated through our STARS-Model Classroom service for organizations in our neighboring communities. And our STARS Partners in Education service for those organizations located outside our local area.

Interested in learning more about our services?

Families who are interested in exploring the possibility of seeking the services of our Integrated Sites Division should contact our Client Services Department to begin the early stages of our intake process. A pre-intake telephone conference will be scheduled in an effort to gather pertinent information regarding the child and the family in order to establish and determine if there is a potential for our services to be beneficial to the child. This informal conversation will also assist our staff in determining the type, manner, and extent of service to be recommended for the initial contact visit. The preliminary stages of our intake process are necessary, as we continually want to insure that we are able to contribute a valuable level of clinical analysis and program guidance that will be beneficial to the child.

START…

Yes! Another acronym – 'Start Teaching and Reinforcing Today!' Great idea, isn't it… Well, if your child has been enrolled in this new service offered through our STARS School Division; then yes, it is a really great idea. The great idea came about when we had far more children to place in our classrooms than we had space. We developed a program to get them STARTed! START is a short-term program that captures critical elements of quality programming for children. The analysis, program development, and initial stages of 1:1 teaching with qualified instructors along with that ever-important parent component… We, at Behavior Analysts, Inc., find all sorts of ways to include the parents. Why? Because it is our belief that they are a vital element to the intervention process.
